We have recently become aware that one of our employees had inadvertently disseminated on social media a job advertisement that contained discriminatory requirements. The post was published in a Facebook group and contained an offending phrase – “prefer Malaysians with min a diploma” – which suggested that a certain nationality of candidates were preferred for the role.

Unfortunately, the job advertisement does not in any way represent our stance on promoting fair employment practices across the industries that we engage in. Discrimination jeopardizes our mission and core values, and we adopt a zero-tolerance approach to unfair employment practices that go against the principles of fairness and meritocracy.

We profoundly regret the error and take responsibility for this unfortunate incident. The job advertisement has been removed on 27 April 2018, and an inquiry conducted with the employee involved. We have reviewed all aspects of our work processes and are putting in place firm measures to ensure that discriminatory practices will not happen again.

We sincerely apologise for the distress caused by our mistake, and will continue to support the Tripartite Guidelines on Fair Employment Practices, both as a recruitment agency and as an employer.

This has been a painful lesson for us, and moving forward we commit to doing our part to combat discrimination and advocate equality in the workplace and in our community at large.
